Honey Smoked Salmon® and Onion Flatbread

This Honey Smoked Salmon and Onion Flatbread is light, delicate, and flavorful, for a quick bite before the big meal. Serve as an appetizer, a side dish, or even as a savory brunch option for the next morning.


  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 shallots, diced
  • 1 ½  cups white onion, diced
  • 1 cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup sliced red onion
  • ¼ cup goat cheese
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • 2 ½ ounces soft herbed cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 oz Honey Smoked Salmon (room-temperature)
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sliced green onion, for garnish


Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 ℉.

Step 2

Sauté shallots, white onion, and red onion in butter in a large frying pan on medium heat, and cook until translucent and fragrant.

Step 3

As onions cook, combine cream cheese, soft herbed cheese, goat cheese, and eggs in a mixer until smooth. Fold in cooked onions and season with salt and pepper.

Step 4

Line a baking sheet with foil, and generously coat with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Unroll puff pastry onto cooking sheet. Create a raised edge by folding in the edges of the puff pastry.

Step 5

Spread onion mixture onto puff pastry. Sprinkle red onion slices over the top.

Step 6

Bake until puff pastry is golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Step 7

Remove from oven, and top flatbread with room-temperature Honey Smoked Salmon.

Step 8

Sprinkle with green onion to garnish.

Step 9

Serve and enjoy!
